Colin Farrell Offered WARCRAFT Lead

Paula Patton in talks to co-star.

‘Moon’ and ‘Source Code’ director Duncan Jones has reportedly set his sights on casting Irish star Colin Farrell and Paula Patton (‘2 Guns,’ ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’) for the leads in ‘Warcraft,’ the movie adaptation of Blizzard’s hit role-playing video game ‘World Of Warcraft.’

The news comes via Deadline, who hear that Patton is negotiations, while Farrell is mulling over an offer.

‘World of Warcraft’ is one of if not the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing games franchises around, and features a medieval-like setting where players control avatars that take on gryphons, dragons, zombies, werewolves and elves. The universe also contains elements of time travel and alien worlds.

Jones is expected to kick off principal photography in January with the screenplay coming from ‘Blood Diamond’ scribe Charles Leavitt. Blizzard Entertainment’s Chris Metzen is on board to co-produce the adaptation alongside Jones and producing partner Stuart Fenegan.
