Colin Farrell May Join Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson for SAVING MR. BANKS

Irish star in talks for true life drama

Colin Farrell is reportedly in talks with Walt Disney Pictures to join Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson for the John Lee Hancock-directed ‘Saving Mr. Banks.’

The Black List script by Kelly Marcel tells the saga of how Walt Disney waged a 14-year courtship to persuade Australian author P.L. Travers to sell him the screen rights to ‘Mary Poppins.’

As previously reported, Hanks is attached to play Disney with Thompson in the role of Travers. Deadline is reporting that Farrell would be portraying the author’s father, the inspiration for the Mr. Banks character in ‘Mary Poppins.’

Farrell is currently shooting the crime drama ‘Dead Man Down’ alongside Noomi Rapace (‘Prometheus’), and will next be seen on the big screen starring in Len Wiseman’s remake of ‘Total Recall.’
