Cork actor Cillian Murphy in negotiations for psychological thriller.

Cillian Murphy (‘Inception,’ ‘Perrier’s Bounty’) is reportedly in advanced talks to join the WWII psychological thriller ‘Wayfaring Strangers’ with Stephen Bradley (‘Boy Eats Girl’) on directing duties.

During the Second World War a group of British soldiers responsible for establishing contact with Resistance is dropped on the wrong side of the demarcation line. They are captured by German soldiers who decide to settle in a remote farmhouse to await a column responsible for taking prisoners to Germany. Unbeknownst to them, young Jewish couple is hiding in the attic.

Sylvie Testud (‘La Vie en Rose’), Niels Arestrup (‘A Prophet’) and Michael Gambon (‘The King’s Speech’) are also in advanced negotiations to star.

The €4 million-budgeted period thriller is a French-Irish coproduction and will be produced by Chic Films (‘A Prophet’) and Ireland’s Treasure Entertainment (‘The Eclipse’).
