Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac have reportedly signed on to co-star in ‘The Promise,’ an epic period love story penned by screenwriter Robin Swicord (Memoirs of a Geisha).
According to TheWrap, the story takes place during the last days of the Ottoman Empire and follows “a love triangle between Michael (Isaac), a brilliant medical student, the beautiful and sophisticated Ana, and Bale’s character, Chris — an American reporter based in Paris.”
‘Hotel Rwanda’ filmmaker Terry George is attached to direct from a script he co-wrote with Robin Swicord (‘Memoirs of a Geisha’). The film is aiming to kick off production later this year in Southern Europe.
