Chris Tucker Circling Two Projects

Motor-mouthed comedian sets his sights on two comeback projects.

Chris Tucker, who was last seen in 2007’s ‘Rush Hour 3,’ is reportedly set to make his comeback. The actor-comedian is in talks to join David O. Russell’s ‘The Silver Linings Playbook,’ while at the same time he is circling a key role in Akiva Schaffer’s comedy ‘Neighborhood Watch.’

An adaptation of Matthew Quick’s 2008 novel, ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’ stars Bradley Cooper as a former high school history teacher who was institutionalized for depression and then released into the care of his mother. Believing that he’s only been away for a few months instead of the four years he just spent in a mental institution, the teacher sets about wooing back his ex-wife but he ends up becoming involved with an eccentric neighbour with problems of her own.

According to Variety, Tucker would be taking the role of Cooper’s “spirited friend who lives in a mental hospital. He escapes on several occasions to visit the troubled protagonist, as the duo have a special understanding of each other.” ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’ will also co-star Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro.

In ‘Neighborhood Watch,’ Tucker would be playing a divorced dad who joins a group of suburban neighbours who use their neighourhood watch as a front to escape their families, however things take a turn for the worse when they discover a plot to destroy the world. Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill are also set to star.
