Green and Pine teaming for thriller…
Heat Vision hears that David Gordon Green (‘Prince Avalanche,’ ‘Pineapple Express’) is to step behind the camera to direct ‘The Line,’ a gritty thriller that has Chris Pine (‘Jack Ryan,’ ‘Star Trek’) attached to star.
Featuring a script by Sang Kyu Kim, the plot centres on a border patrol agent (Pine) who “finds himself in a downward spiral on the job and at home after he loses is wife and young son. He unexpectedly becomes the caretaker of a ten-year-old child who is orphaned after a shootout with a criminal cartel. As he protects the young boy by going on the run, the agent discovers he has enemies on both sides of the law and of the border.”
Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh (‘Welcome to the Punch,’ ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’) are on board to produce with Stuart Ford and Matt Jackson of IM Global executive producing.
