Chris Evans in Talks for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Remake

Chris Evans is reportedly in talks to join ‘Little Shop of Horrors,’ a new big-screen take of the cult movie turned Broadway musical that has his ‘Avengers: Endgame’ co-star Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton (‘Rocketman’) and Billy Porter (‘Pose’) in lines to star.

Directed by Roger Corman, the low-budget 1960 original starred Jonathan Haze as Seymour Krelboyne, a mild-mannered young florist who cultivates a plant that feeds on human flesh and blood. After gaining a cult following, the story was turned in an off-Broadway musical in 1982. Frank Oz directed an adaptation of the tale in 1986 with Rick Moranis in the role of Seymour. The film co-starred Ellen Greene and Steve Martin.

According to THR, Egerton is circling the role of Seymour, with Johansson in talks for the Audrey role. Should he put pen to paper, Evans would play dentist Orin Scrivello, Audrey’s abusive and sadistic boyfriend. Porter is on board to voice the alien man-eating/singing plant Audrey II.

The remake is set up over at Warner Bros. with Greg Berlanti (‘Love, Simon,’ ‘Life as We Know It,’ ‘The Broken Hearts Club’) attached to direct.
