The chipmunks are set to return to the big screen in 2010.
The sequel ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks II’ will be released on March 19, 2010. A follow-up had been expected given the breakaway success of the first pic, which grossed $358.4 million worldwide.
The first film left off with the three singing chipmunks reuniting with their manager Dave Seville (Jason Lee). No concept or script has been confirmed for the sequel and it remains unclear if Lee is attached to the project.
EXTRAs: Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Tim Allen and John Travolta were all offered and declined the role of Dave.
