Charlize Theron, who will next be gracing our cinemas screen with the action epic ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ has signed on to take the lead in ‘The Coldest City,’ a spy thriller based on the bestselling graphic novel by Antony Johnston.
The film, which will begin shooting in October in Germany, follows “a super spy (Theron) who springs into action after an underground MI6 officer is killed just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. She must find a list he was smuggling into the West to protect herself and the counter intelligence community. It becomes a game of double-crossing as agents play out global agendas.”
Deadline hears that David Leitch and Chad Stahelski of ‘John Wick’ fame are on board to direct, with Theron, Beth Kono and AJ Dix of Denver and Delilah Productions producing alongside Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin of Closed on Mondays Entertainment and Kelly McCormick of Sierra/Affinity.
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is in Irish cinemas from May 14, 2015.
