Chadwick Boseman Headlining Revenge Thriller MESSAGE FROM THE KING

‘Black Panther’ star to topline thriller…

Before he dons the Black Panther suit, Chadwick Boseman (’42’) will take the lead in Belgian director Fabrice Du Welz’s ‘Message From the King.’

Featuring a script by Stephen Cornwell and Oliver Butcher, the thriller is set in the underbelly of present day Los Angeles. Jacob King (Boseman) arrives in the city from South Africa, looking for his younger sister. He has a few hundred dollars in his pocket and a return ticket home in a week. Within 24 hours, he has found out that she has been brutally murdered. ‘Message From the King’ is the story of the next six days.

Entertainment One and Ink Factory are co-financing, with Cornwell producing alongside his brother, Simon Cornwell, Ash Shah and Rhodri Thomas. Boseman will also serve as executive producer on the film.

“We are delighted to be working with Chadwick, Fabrice and eOne on this film. Chadwick’s unique talent and intelligence will bring a special combination of empathy and energy to the role, and in combination with Fabrice’s exciting vision for the film we are sure this will deliver something extraordinary,” said Cornwell. “eOne has been a great advocate for the project and we are looking forward enormously to working on the film with them.”

Boseman will next be seen starring in the James Brown biopic ‘Get On Up’ when it opens in Irish cinemas November 21st, followed by the Alex Proyas-directed ‘Gods of Egypt’ in February 2016.
