Affleck signs up for true-life drama.
Warner Bros. is teaming up with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon to develop the drama ‘Race To The South Pole’ based on a pitch from writer/director Peter Glanz (‘The Longest Week,’ ‘The Dinner Party’).
The film will tell the true story of two explorers – Englishman Robert Falcon Scott and Norwegian Roald Amundsen – and their pursuit to be the first person to reach the South Pole in the early 1900s.
According to THR, Casey Affleck (‘Out of the Furnace,’ ‘ParaNorman’) is attached to play Scott. Affleck senior and Damon are producing via their Warners-based banner Pearl Street.
