Affleck and Maclean developing serial killer thriller.

Casey Affleck and screenwriter Chuck Maclean are teaming with Warner Bros. Pictures for ‘Boston Strangler,’ a thriller penned by Maclean that will tell of the desperate search for the murderer who terrorized the Boston area during the early 1960s.

Deadline is hearing that Affleck will play one of the detectives who were part of the Strangler Squad responsible for solving the crime. The story will follow Affleck’s ambitious “detective who is willing to risk career and life in a race to bring down the most notorious sexual predator of the day, while battling a political cover-up by corrupt politicians and lawyers trying to save their careers.”

Along with taking a starring role, Affleck will serve as executive producer on the thriller with Langley Park’s Kevin McCormick (‘Gangster Squad’) producing.
