Chris Pine is in negotiations to join Jack Ryan, reports Variety.
The Star Trek actor to succeed Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck in the role of the CIA analyst and action hero created by author Tom Clancy.
“Talks are just getting underway, but Pine is expected to come aboard the Jack Ryan film as the project takes shape. Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mace Neufeld are working with a script draft by Hossein Amini, based on an original concept,” according to the trade.
Pine is currently shooting the Denzel Washington-Tony Scott thriller Unstoppable.
