Bruckheimer options Horse Soliders

Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney grab Horse Soldiers

Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have bought the screen rights to Doug Stanton’s novel Horse Soldiers a month prior to its publication date in May.

The novel is set in post-9/11 Afghanistan, and concerns a group of CIA operatives and elite Special Forces that secretly invade the country on horseback, aiding Afghan fighters to topple the Taliban.

Stanton previously published In Harm’s Way, which dealt with the sinking of the USS Indianapolis during WWII, and was also originally mooted to be produced by Warner Brothers for the big screen.
