Brett Ratner to Direct MIDNIGHT RUN Sequel

Project also lands new scribes.

Brett Ratner (‘Tower Heist,’ ‘Rush Hour’) is in negotiations to direct a sequel to the 1988 mismatched buddy classic ‘Midnight Run.’

The original starred Robert De Niro as Jack Walsh, a bounty hunter who escorts an embezzler (played by Charles Grodin) across America. De Niro is attached to reprise his role, and will also serve as producer.

With a newly written script by David Elliot and Paul Lovett (‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,’ ‘Four Brothers’), the sequel will continue the storyline of Walsh. A previous draft was penned by Timothy Dowling (‘Knight and Day,’ ‘Role Models’).
