Brendan Glesson lands lead role in the latest Peter Greengrass film

Irish actor Brendan Glesson has signed on to play the lead role in untitled ‘Green Zone’ thriller.  Bourne director Peter Greengrass will helm the film. Other cast members include Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan and Jason Isaacs.

Gleeson will play a high-ranking American solider during the hunt for WMDs in the immediate aftermath of the American occupation of Baghdad and the fall of Saddam Hussein. The project is inspired by Rajiv Chandrasekaran’s book “Imperial Life in the Emerald City,”.

Gleeson’s latest release ‘In Bruges’ topped the Irish charts with Gleeson recieving a Volta award at last month’s Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, for his career achievements.
TIDBIT: Before becoming an actor, Gleeson taught Maths at St. Joseph’s Secondary school in Fairview, Dublin.
