Bradley Cooper May Direct HONEYMOON WITH HARRY

Film would reunite Cooper and Robert DeNiro…

According to reports Bradley Cooper (‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ ‘Silver Linings Playbook’) is looking to turn his hand to directing, eyeing the dramatic comedy ‘Honeymoon With Harry’ for his debut.

Based on the book of the same name by Bart Baker, the film tells the story of Todd Cartwright, a formerly self-centred womanizing boozehound whose fiancé dies 2 days before their wedding. Devastated, Todd heads off on their honeymoon with his fiancé’s father, who despises him, to scatter the ashes.

Deadline’s Mike Fleming hears that the project may also serve as a starring vehicle for Cooper and his ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ and ‘Limitless’ co-star Robert DeNiro.

The drama/comedy has been in the works for a number of years now, and was at one point set to team Vince Vaughn and Jack Nicholson under the direction of Paul Haggis. Dan Fogelman (‘Galavant,’ ‘Crazy, Stupid. Love,’ ‘Tangled’) is on board to pen the re-write the script.

Cooper will next be seen starring in the Clint Eastwood-directed drama ‘American Sniper’ when it opens in Irish cinemas January 16th.
