BLACK RAIN Scribe to Tackle Nicholas Sparks Adaptation LONGEST RIDE

Sparks’ latest novel to get big screen treatment.

THR is reporting that veteran screenwriter Craig Bolotin (‘Black Rain,’ ‘Light It Up,’ ‘Miami Vice’) has been hired by Fox 2000 to provide the script for an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ latest book, ‘The Longest Ride.’

Set to arrive on bookshelves this month, the book follows two storylines that ultimately converge. The first involves Ira Levinson, a ninety-one years old man, in poor health and alone in the world, who finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. While fighting to remain conscious, he sees visions of his deceased wife and their life together.

The second follows Sophia Danko, a high school senior recovering from a recent break-up, who meets Luke, a young bull rider with a secret.

Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are on board to produce the adaptation via their Temple Hill banner.
