BLACK PANTHER, DOCTOR STRANGE, CAPTAIN MARVEL, and THE INHUMANS Part of Marvel's Phase 3 Slate

Superhero powerhouse reveals five-year plan…

At a fan presentation at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, Marvel Studios officially unveiled its full slate for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Included in the upcoming films are solo outings for DOCTOR STRANGE (rumoured to star Benedict Cumberbatch), CAPTAIN MARVEL, marking Carol Danvers the first female superhero from Marvel to get her own film, and BLACK PANTHER: the first major superhero film for a black lead since Wesley Snipes’ vampire-hunting badass ‘Blade.’

May 6th 2016: CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

November 4th 2016: DOCTOR STRANGE

May 5th 2017: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2

July 28th 2017: THOR: RAGNAROK (with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki returning)

November 3rd 2017: BLACK PANTHER

May 4th 2018: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART I

July 6th 2018: CAPTAIN MARVEL

November 2nd 2018: INHUMANS

May 3rd 2019: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR PART II

Taking the lead in the newly-announced BLACK PANTHER film will be Chadwick Boseman (‘Get On Up,’ ’42,’ ‘Gods of Egypt’). “I’m blessed to be a part of this Marvel Universe, and to work with you both, and I look forward to making magic together,” Boseman said after taking the stage with ‘Captain America: Civil War’ co-star Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr.

Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige confirmed that Black Panther will be introduced in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ in costume.

Following the news of Boseman’s involvement, Marvel’s Ryan Penagos (@AgentM) tweeted out the following concept art by Ryan Meinerding, which fans attending the Phase 3 event in Hollywood received as a special poster giveaway.

Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicks off after the release of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and ANT-MAN.
