Berlin’s Golden Bear-winning film ‘Touch Me Not’ to open exclusively at the IFI

Berlin’s Golden Bear-winning film TOUCH ME NOT opens exclusively at the Irish Film Institute from October 19th

Together, a filmmaker and her characters venture into a personal research about intimacy. On the fluid border between reality and fiction, TOUCH ME NOT follows the emotional journeys of Laura, Tomas and Christian, offering a deeply empathetic insight into their lives. Craving for intimacy yet also deeply afraid of it, they work to overcome old patterns, defense mechanisms and taboos, to cut the cord and finally be free.

TOUCH ME NOT looks at how we can find intimacy in the most unexpected ways and explores how to love another person without losing ourselves.

This quietly intriguing and provocative feature is the debut from Romanian director and visual artist Adina Pintilie. Her previous short films have featured at prominent festivals including Locarno.

TOUCH ME NOT was the winner of the top prize at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival in February. It has screened extensively at festivals internationally and continues to pick up Awards across the Globe.

Distributed in Ireland by access>CINEMA, the film opens exclusively at the Irish Film Institute on Friday October 19th.
