Beckinsale Joins THE FACE OF AN ANGEL

Loosely based on the Amanda Knox murder trial…

‘Underworld’ star Kate Beckinsale has reportedly scored a role alongside Daniel Brühl (‘The Fifth Estate’) and model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne (‘Anna Karenina’) in writer/director Michael Winterbottom’s upcoming drama ‘The Face of Angel.’

Using Rome-based journalist and author Barbie Latza Nadeau’s 2010 crime true book about the Amanda Knox trial as a jumping point, the film sees ‘Rush’ star Brühl playing a troubled documentary filmmaker who is researching a sensational murder trial surrounding a student killer (played by Delevingne). Deadline has Beckinsale playing a journalist who is also pursuing the case. Italian actor Valerio Mastandrea (‘The First Beautiful Thing’) co-stars.

Winterbottom is aiming to kick off principal photography next month in Rome, Siena and Ravenna with a screenplay penned by Paul Viragh (‘Ashes,’ ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’).
