Bad Robot Hires Scribes for Graphic Novel Adaptation BOILERPLATE

Steampunk tale lands writers.

Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot have tapped screenwriters John D. Payne and Patrick McKay to pen an adaptation of Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett’s 170-page graphic novel ‘Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel.’

Built in the late 19th Century by Professor Archibald Campion, the robot Boilerplate was created for the self-proclaimed purpose of preventing the deaths of men in the conflicts of nations. Boilerplate charged into combat alongside such notables as Teddy Roosevelt and Lawrence of Arabia.

Payne and McKay also penned the upcoming Scott Derrickson-directed ‘Goliath,’ which is rumoured to be starring Dwayne Johnson and ‘Twilight’ star Taylor Lautner.
