Avi Arad says Amazing Spider-Man is not a reboot
Avi Arad, executive producer on The Amazing Spider-Man, has revealed that the new movie will not fully reboot the first three films.
Speaking toEntertainment Weekly, Arad clarified that The Amazing Spider-Man will tell the stories that happened around the events of the earlier films.
“It’s not a comeback. You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.”
He also stated that the film “won’t erase what came before, but will try to weave a narrative that could take place within the framework of the earlier films.”
The Amazing Spider-Man is scheduled to open in cinemas on July 3, 2012.
