ASSASSIN’S CREED Targets Daniel Espinosa

Swedish director sought for videogame adaptation…

Daniel Espinosa (‘Safe House,’ ‘Snabba Cash’) is reportedly the top choice to take the director’s chair for 20th Century Fox’s big screen adaptation of ‘Assassin’s Creed,’ according to the folk over Twitch.

Based on Ubisoft’s massively popular series, ‘Assassin’s Creed’ revolves around Desmond Miles, a bartender who is captured by a secret corporation called Abstergo Industries and forced to go back in time to various historical periods like the Renaissance and Crusades to relieve the memories of his ancestors — all assassins — in order to recover ancient artefacts.

’12 Years A Slave’ and ‘Shame’ actor Michael Fassbender is on board to star and produce, with noted British playwright Michael Lesslie providing the screenplay.
