Asa Butterfield May Head To MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN

Butterfield eyed for supernatural tale…

‘Ender’s Game’ and ‘Hugo’ star Asa Butterfield has emerged as director Tim Burton’s top choice for the coveted lead role in ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,’ according to TheWrap.

Scripted by Jane Goldman from Ransom Riggs’ novel of the same name, the supernatural tale revolves around 16-year-old Jacob Portaman, who heads off to his late grandfather’s home on an isolated island off Wales, where he discovers the abandoned remains of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores the orphanage he begins to discover that the children were more than peculiar, they might have been there because they were dangerous.

Eva Green (‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’) is on board to play the titular Miss Peregrine.

The film is set up over at 20th Century Fox, and is scheduled to commence filming in February. Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark and Jenno Topping are producing.
