‘Hugo’ and ‘Ender’s Game’ star Asa Butterfield has closed a deal to head up the cast of sci-fi adventure flick ‘Out of this World,’ says THR.
With ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ director Peter Chelsom behind the camera, the film revolves around Gardner (Butterfield), a youngster “raised in secret by scientists on a Mars colony after the death of his astronaut mother. Sixteen years later, he goes from the Red Planet to Earth and hits the road travelling across America with a young woman, in search of the father he never knew.”
The script comes from Allan Loeb (’21,’ ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’), with revisions by Chelsom and Tinker Lindsay.
Ryan Kavanaugh of Relativity Media and Richard B. Lewis of Southpaw Entertainment are producing, with Loeb, Tucker Tooley, Steven Pearl and Sasha Harrari serving as executive producers.
