Armie Hammer (‘Mirror, Mirror,’ ‘J Edgar,’ ‘The Social Network’) has landed the second male lead in ‘Up in the Air’ co-writer Sheldon Turner’s upcoming directorial debut ‘By Virtue Fall,’ reports Deadline.
The gritty crime thriller will see Hammer playing an ATF agent framed for corruption and sent to a maximum security federal prison. To survive, he turns into a badass. When he emerges from that hellhole, he devotes himself to getting revenge on the person who destroyed his life: his former partner (played by Eric Bana), who has moved on to a crime-free life.
Hammer reportedly plans to bulk up and shave his head for the role. James Spader (‘Boston Legal’), Ryan Phillippe (‘The Lincoln Lawyer’) and Carla Gugino (‘Sucker Punch’) are set to co-star.
