Antonio Banderas Joins THE EXPENDABLES 3

Mel Gibson confirmed for the threequel.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Antonio Banderas has become the latest actor to join ‘The Expendables 3’ lineup, with previously rumoured Mel Gibson now confirmed for the role of the threequel’s big bad.

The actors, who recently worked together on Robert Rodriguez’ ‘Machete Kills,’ join a cast that includes Banderas’ ‘Assassins’ co-star Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, and newcomers Harrison Ford, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Milla Jovovich, Kellan Lutz, MMA star Ronda Rousey and boxer Victor Ortiz.

Although rumours suggested that Nicolas Cage was in talks for the film, the ‘Ghost Rider’ star recently told Screen Rant that he has not had any conversations with Stallone. “I have not had any formal discussions about [Expendables 3]. I’m not in ‘Kick-Ass 2’ and I don’t think I’m in ‘Expendables 3.’ And I like those guys, but I would say it would be highly unlikely that I’d be in that movie.”

‘Red Hill’ director Patrick Hughes is behind the camera for the third film with principal photograhpy expected to kick off next month in Los Angeles.
