Anton Corbijn to Helm A MOST WANTED MAN

Corbijn to adapt 2008 novel for the big screen.

THR reports that director Anton Corbijn (‘The American,’ ‘Control’) has signed on to helm an adaptation of John le Carré’s 2008 political thriller ‘A Most Wanted Man.’

The drama tells the story of the Chechian Muslim Issa who illegally immigrates to Hamburg, where he gets caught up in the international war on terror. The story is loosely based on the real-life story of Turkish citizen and legal German resident Murat Kurnaz, who was wrongfully imprisoned in Guantanamo for 5 years.

Production is set to being later this year with a script penned by Andrew Bovell (‘Edge of Darkness’). Below is a trailer for le Carré’s novel.
