ANT-MAN Hires New Director and Writer

New director chosen for superhero flick…

It has been confirmed that Peyton Reed (‘Yes Man,’ ‘Down With Love,’ ‘The Break-Up,’ ‘Bring It On’) has come on board to take the director’s chair for Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man,’ replacing Edgar Wright who quit the film last month due to creative differences.

Marvel has also tapped ‘Anchorman’ co-writer and director Adam Mckay to provide the script for the comic book film, which will star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a petty criminal who has the ability to shrink in scale and increase in strength thanks to technology created by Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Together they must protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats, and pull off a heist that will save the world.

In addition to Rudd and Douglas, the film will also star Evangeline Lilly (‘The Hobbit’), Michael Pena (‘End of Watch’), Corey Stoll (‘House of Cards’) and Patrick Wilson (‘The Conjuring’).

Reed is no stranger to the Marvel universe, having spent years developing ‘Fantastic Four’ over at 20th Fox before Tim Story took over the property.

‘Ant-Man’ is still scheduled for release July, 2015.
