Replacing Sandra Bullock on the remake.
Cameron Diaz has reportedly signed on to take the role of Miss Hannigan in Will Gluck’s upcoming ‘Annie’ remake, replacing Sandra Bullock who had originally been in talks for the part.
Diaz joins Quvenzhané Wallis, who is playing the titular orphan opposite Jamie Foxx’s take on the Daddy Warbucks character, a New York City mayoral candidate named Benjamin Stacks. Will Smith,
Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Jada Pinkett Smith, and James Lassiter are producing the classic comic strip-turned-musical.
Principal photography is slated for the autumn, with Gluck directing from a script by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna.
