THR reports that Anna Kendrick (‘Scott Pilgrim vs the World.,’ ‘Up In the Air,’ ‘Twilight’) in talks for the lead in the romantic comedy ‘Pitch Perfect.’
Set in the world of collegiate a cappella groups. Kendrick would be playing a goth-like and rebellious student, who is unhappy to be at a school at which her father is a professor, she soon discovers her voice and becomes the secret weapon for the school’s female a cappella group.
Australian actress Rebel Wilson (Kristen Wiig’s roommate in ‘Bridesmaids’) will co- star, with ‘Avenue Q’ director Jason Moore attached to direct from a screenplay based on Mickey Rapkin’s nonfiction book of the same name.
Kendrick will be next seen in Jonathan Levine’s cancer-themed comedy ‘50/50’ starring alongside Joseph Godron-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Bryce Dallas Howard.
