Aniston, Kendrick, Worthington and More Take CAKE

Daniel Barnz directing the indie…

Jennifer Aniston (‘We’re The Millers’), Anna Kendrick (‘Pitch Perfect’), Sam Worthington (‘Sabotage’), and Chris Messina (‘Manglehorn’) have all landed roles in Daniel Barnz’s upcoming indie drama ‘Cake.’

Per TheWrap, the film will see Aniston playing “an acerbic woman named Claire who becomes fascinated by the suicide of Nina (Kendrick), a woman in her chronic pain support group. As she uncovers the details of Nina’s suicide and develops a poignant relationship with Nina’s husband (Worthington), Claire also grapples with her own very raw personal tragedy.”

Felicity Huffman (‘Rudderless’), William H. Macy (‘Stealing Cars’), Britt Robertson (‘Tomorrowland’), Lucy Walters (‘The Brass Teapot’), Marianne Jean-Baptiste (‘Edge of Tomorrow’), Camille Mana (‘High School’), Manuel Garcia Rulfo (‘Bless Me, Ultima’), Adriana Barraza (‘The 33’), Mamie Gummer (‘Side Effects’) fill out the cast.

Mark Canton is producing with Courtney Solomon, Ben Barnz and Kristin Hahn. In addition to leading the film, Aniston will also serve as executive producer with Shyam Madiraju. The script, penned by Patrick Tobin, featured on last year’s Black List of unproduced screenplays.
