Will Andy Serkis return to Middle Earth – Del Toro hopes so!
Director Guillermo del Toro has reveaked that he would like Andy Serkis to star as Gollum in his Hobbit films.
Posting on The One Ring, Del Toro commented that he “cannot imagine Gollum being played by anyone but Andy”.
Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in all three of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films with the help of motion capture technology, has not been officially cast in del Toro’s forthcoming prequels however Del Toro has also hinted that two other actors from LOTRs are likely to star in the prequels.
