Andy Fickmann gets a Call

Escape to Witch Mountain Helmer tackles teen time travel.

Having acquired the rights to Sarah Mylnowski young-adult novel “Gimme a Call”, Paramount Pictures have hired helmer Andy Fickman to direct a feature adaptation.

The time travel plot follows a depressed high school senior student who accidentally drops her phone in a fountain. When she fishes it out, she discovers the only call she can make is to herself — at age 14, when anything seemed possible.

Fickman, whose most recent film “Escape to Witch Mountain” knocked “Watchmen off the number one spot, described the film as a mix between the John Hughes movies and “Back to the Future”.
