Batman Rumor #999: Rachel Weisz as Catwoman
While folks at Warner and Christopher Nolan are remaining tight-lipped regarding any future Batman film, , rumor has it that movie bosses reportedly want Rachel Weisz to play Catwoman in the sequel to The Dark Knight.
The Mummy actress is said to be in contention to play the villain opposite Christian Bale’s Caped Crusader if he returns to the role.
“Producers are looking at Rachel to play Catwoman, one of Batman’s arch enemies, in Batman 3,” a source told reporters.
Catwoman, a character known for her ambiguity in Batman mythology, was portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns and Halle Berry in 2004 spinoff movie Catwoman.
Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether all took on the part in the 1960s Batman TV series.
