THR has confirmed that Amanda Seyfried has joined the cast of Tom Hooper’s new film adaption of ‘Les Miserables.’ The ‘In Time’ actress will take the role of Cosette, while singer-turned-actress Taylor Swift has reportedly been offered the role of Eponine.

Aaron Tveit, who was most recently seen starring on stage in the musical adaptation of ‘Catch Me If You Can,’ has also been confirmed. Tveit is also known for his role opposite James Franco in the Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman-directed ‘Howl.’

Seyfried and Tveit join Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne. According to THR, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter, whose names have been linked to the production, have yet to be confirmed.

In related news, a source close to production has revealed that Oscar-winning ‘King’s Speech’ director Hooper is planning to have the cast record their vocals live on camera during their scenes, instead of pre-recording their vocals in a studio, and then lip-syncing to songs when the cameras roll.
