Allan Loeb to Pen BOB THE MUSICAL

Scribe boards high-concept musical comedy…

Allan Loeb, the screenwriter behind ‘Rock of Ages,’ ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ and ‘Things We Lost In The Fire,’ has been hired by Disney to pen a draft for the studio’s long-gestating musical comedy, ‘Bob the Musical,’ according to THR.

The project, in development over at the Mouse House since 2004, follows a mild-mannered man who, after “a blow to the head, suddenly can hear the inner songs of everyone’s heart as his reality is instantly turned into a musical, much to his dismay.”

‘21 Jump Street’ and ‘Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs’ directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, and Adam Shankman (‘Rock of Ages,’ ‘Hairspray’) were involved with the project over the years.

Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the duo behind the Disney’s breakout ‘Frozen,’ will be providing the music and lyrics for the musical.

Chris Bender, J.C. Spink and Jake Weiner of Benderspink, along with Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are producing.
