Alicia Vikander is THE MARSH KING’S DAUGHTER

Alicia Vikander, who will next be seen as Lara Croft in ‘Tomb Raider,’ is set to take the lead in ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘Passengers’ director Morten Tyldum’s psychological thriller ‘The Marsh King’s Daughter.’

Based on the best-selling novel by Karen Dionne, the film will see Vikander play Helena, a woman living a seemingly ordinary life, but hiding a dark secret within: that her father is the infamous “Marsh King,” the man who kept her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years. After a lifetime of trying to escape her past, Helena is forced to face her demons when her father unexpectedly escapes from prison.

Elle Smith and Mark L. Smith (‘The Revenant’) are adapting the script, with Black Bear Pictures’ Teddy Schwarzman, and Keith Redmon of Anonymous Content producing. Anonymous Content’s Bard Dorros and Vikander will executive produce.

TOMB RAIDER is released in Irish cinemas March 16, 2018.
