Alicia Vikander Finds TESTAMENT OF YOUTH

Kit Harington co-starring…

Word is coming in from THR that Swedish actress Alicia Vikander (‘Anna Karenina,’ ‘A Royal Affair’) is to replace Saoirse Ronan in the upcoming adaptation of Vera Brittain’s First World War memoir, ‘Testament of Youth.’

Published in 1933, ‘Testament of Youth’ recounts Brittain’s experiences as a nurse in the Great War, during which she lost her fiancé and brother. “After the war, she tried to resume her life but found herself part of a lost generation, returning to Oxford and becoming a feminist and a writer.”

Kit Harrington of ‘Game of Thrones’ fame will portray Brittain’s fiancé, Roland Leighton. Vikander and Harrington recently worked together on Sergey Bodrov’s fantasy film ‘The Seventh Son.’

James Kent (‘The White Queen,’ ‘Marchlands’) is attached to direct ‘Testament of Youth’ from a script penned by Juliette Towhidi.
