ALICE IN WONDERLAND Sequel Eyes James Bobin

Disney’s eyes potential director for sequel.

James Bobin (‘The Muppets,’ ‘Flight of the Conchords’) is in talks with Walt Disney Pictures to take the reins for a sequel to Tim Burton’s 2010 fantasy adventure hit ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Heat Vision reports that the talks are in the early stages as Bobin, who is currently in production on ‘The Muppets … Again!’ for the studio, has yet to meet with producers Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd.

As revealed back in December, the studio has the first film’s screenwriter Linda Woolverton on board to provide the script. No word on whether Johnny Depp or Mia Wasikowska will return.
