Alice Eve Joins STAR TREK Sequel

Actress will play a character new to ‘Trek’ canon.

Variety is reporting that Alice Eve (‘She’s Out of My League’) is set to join the cast of J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek’ sequel, playing a character that’s believed to be new to the franchise.

The trade adds that Teresa Palmer (‘I Am Number Four’) and Hayley Atwell (‘Captain America: The First Avenger’) also tested for the role, but Eve won out. She joins the cast from the previous installment. Benicio del Toro is currently circling the role of the sequel’s villain, a character insiders believe will be familiar to fans.

Eve will next be seen starring alongside John Cusack and Luke Evans in James McTeigue’s ‘The Raven.’ The actress will follow the gothic thriller with a supporting role in ‘Men in Black III,’ which lands in cinemas in the summer.
