Alfonso Gomez-Rejon May Travel to THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN

ShockTillYouDrop has word that Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, a second-unit director on Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo,’ is in talks to helm MGM’s remake of the 1976 horror classic ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

The original film, loosely based on a true story, followed Captain J.D. Morales, a criminal investigator and Texas Ranger, who hunts for a hooded serial killer known as the “Phantom Killer” who is terrorizing the residents of a small town in 1946 Arkansas.

MGM’s remake will be produced by ‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum (‘Paranormal Activity,’ ‘Insidious’).
