Alexander Skarsgard, Andrea Riseborough and Michael Nyqvist Set to DISCONNECT

Frank Grillo and Colin Ford also set to star.

Variety is reporting that Alexander Skarsgard (‘True Blood’), Michael Nyqvist (‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’), Andrea Riseborough (‘Happy-Go-Lucky’), Frank Grillo (‘Warrior’) and Colin Ford (‘We Bought a Zoo,’ ‘Supernatural’) are all attached to Henry-Alex Rubin’s indie drama ‘Disconnect.’

The ensemble drama follows a large cast of characters who are affected — and in some cases destroyed — by the Internet and other forms of modern communication. Skarsgard will play a former Marine who’s emotionally cut off from his wife, prompting him to seek an affair. Nyqvist is set to play someone who Skarsgard and his wife suspect of stealing their identity, while Riseborough will play a TV reporter who pursues a story about a young male model who poses nude online.

Grillo plays a single father and computer safety expert who struggles to protect his 15-year-old son from online dangers. Ford would play Grillo’s son.

Rubin previously directed 2005s Oscar-nominated documentary ‘Murderball.’ Production on ‘Disconnect’ is set to kick off next month in New York City with a script by Andrew Stern (‘Return to Me’).
