Pettyfer and Wilde will lead the remake.
Variety reports that writer/director Shana Feste (‘Country Strong’) is to direct Alex Pettyfer (‘Magic Mike’) and Gabriella Wilde (‘The Three Musketeers’) in a remake of the romantic drama ‘Endless Love.’
Directed by Franco Zeffirelli and starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt, the 1981 original detailed the doomed romance between two teenagers. The film was adapted from the novel of the same name by Scott Spencer. It is not known how close the new film’s plot will mirror the previous version.
Scott Stuber (‘Ted’) and Pamela Abdy (‘Garden State’) of Bluegrass Films and Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz (‘Chuck’) and Stephanie Savage (‘Gossip Girl’) are on board to produce. Tracy Falco (‘Blow’) will serve as executive producer.
