Filming kicks off in June…

Deadline hears that Adrien Brody (‘The Grand Budapest Hotel,’ ‘Midnight in Paris’), Salma Hayek (‘Frida,’ ‘Everly’) and Shohreh Aghdashloo (‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green,’ ‘The Stoning of Soraya M.’) are set to star in the thriller ‘The Septembers Of Shiraz,’ for director Wayne Blair (‘The Sapphires’).

The film, based on the bestseller by Dalia Sofer and adapted by Hanna Weg, is the true story of “a secular Jewish family caught in the Islamic revolution in Iran, and their journey to overcome and ultimately escape from the deadly tyranny that swept their country and threatened to extinguish their lives at every turn.”

Production is pencilled in for a June start in Bulgaria, with Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson producing via their G-Base banner, along with Weg and Heidi Jo Markel of Eclectic Pictures.
