Variety reports that Adam Shankman (‘Rock of Ages,’ ‘Bedtime Stories,’ ‘Hairspray’) is in early negotiations to direct and produce for the family drama ‘This Is Where I Leave You.’
An adaptation of Jonthan Tropper’s novel, the story centers on a father who dies and requests that his highly dysfunctional and non-religious family sit Shivah-and spend seven days and nights under the same roof.
Shankman would be replacing Greg Berlanti (‘Life as We Know It,’ ‘The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy’), who was originally attached to direct.
