Adam Berg to Direct VIDEODROME Remake

Unnecessary remake continues to move forward.

Deadline has learned that Swedish commercials helmer Adam Berg is in talks to make his feature directorial debut with the long-gesting remake of David Cronenberg’s cult classic ‘Videodrome.’

Released in 1983, the original sci-fi horror starred James Woods as a TV executive who makes his station relevant by programming ‘Videodrome,’ a series that depicts torture and murder that transfixes viewers.

The plan for the Ehren Kruger (‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon,’ ‘The Brothers Grimm,’ ‘Scream 3’) scripted remake is to “modernize the concept, infusing it with the possibilities of nano-technology and blow it up into a large-scale sci-fi action thriller.”
