Indie based on Sundance short.
‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis (‘August: Osage County’) are set to star in writer-director Kat Candler’s indie drama ‘Hellion.’
Based on Candler’s six-minute short that played at Sundance last year, the story follows “Jacob, a thirteen-year-old obsessed with motocross and heavy metal. In the wake of his mother’s death, Jacob is stirring up trouble across town and butting heads with his emotionally absent father, Hollis. Eventually, his behaviour gets his younger brother, Petey, taken away and Jacob and Hollis must take responsibility for their actions in order to get Petey home.”
Jonny Mars (‘The Happy Poet’), who appeared in the short, co-stars along with Josh Wiggins and Deke Garner.
Kelly Williams and Jonathan Duffy are producing the film, with Janice Beard, Tanner Beard, Suzanne Weinert, Jeff Nichols and Sarah on board as executive producers.
