A MANY SPLINTERED THING Adds Plaza, Ribisi, Mackie and More

Quirky rom-com adds five more.

Deadline reports that ‘Parks and Recreation’ and ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’ star Aubrey Plaza, Anthony Mackie (‘Captain America: Winter Solider,’ ‘Hurtlocker’), character actor Giovanni Ribisi (‘Gangster Squad,’ ‘TED’), Topher Grace (‘The Big Wedding,’ ‘The Giant Mechanical Man’) and veteran actor Philip Baker Hall (‘Argo,’ ‘Magnolia’) have all signed on to join leads Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan on the “anti-romantic comedy” ‘A Many Splintered Thing.’

The offbeat feature sees Evans playing “a disgruntled screenwriter who falls for an engaged woman (Monaghan). Excited by the challenge and egged on by his friends, he feigns a platonic relationship in order to keep seeing her as he tries to win her heart.”

‘A Many Splintered Thing’ is set to kick of principal photography at the end of the month and will mark the directorial debut of commercials helmer Justin Reardon, who will be helming from a Black List script by Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair.
